I have been reading books since I can remember. Books were one of the safest places for me to be and live — and I did often live in them. Words were devoid of the volatile and violent eruptions that often emanated from my household, or at least the people in it. Words were simultaneously ever-changing and static. One of the earliest books i ever read was Piers Anthony’s Magic of Xanth — the hardcover verison.
